Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com provided a different angle of the stadium model:
The deal is a 27-year partnership between the Falcons and Mercedes-Benz, though the team wouldn't disclose the financial terms of the naming rights, per AJC Stadium on Twitter.
As for the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome in New Orleans, the company will "deal with that when the time comes," said Steve Cannon, the president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, per AJC Stadium.
With a state-of-the-art stadium on the way in 2017, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said he hoped to host the Super Bowl in either 2019 or 2020, per McClure. Mayor Kasim Reed said of the new partnership, "It represents the best of us. It represents excellence," per the new stadium's Twitter feed.
With a sleek retractable roof and a slew of cutting-edge features sure to distinguish Atlanta's new stadium from the pack, the NFL likely won't have to be sold too hard on the benefits of having the Super Bowl hosted in Atlanta once the new digs are complete.
