Jon Beason Injury: Updates on Giants LB's Knee and Return
New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason left the team's preseason game on Aug. 22 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a sprained knee.
After being out of action ever since, the Giants announced Beason would be active for their Week 3 NFC East matchup against the Washington Redskins.
Art Stapleton of the Record reported Beason participated in practice on Sept. 22. The Giants announced Beason felt great physically.

Coughlin said on Sept. 1 that Beason was "feeling better" and is "optimistic" about his recovery, per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
"It is a knee sprain, but it’s minor," Beason said on Aug. 23, via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. "Nothing too concerning."
Beason has had problems staying on the field in the past, playing in just five games over two seasons from 2011 to 2012 with the Carolina Panthers and missing out on 12 games last season with a toe injury.
After being traded from Carolina to the Giants in 2013, Beason developed into one of the leaders of a Giants linebacker corps that had been one of the weakest units on the defense, recording 65 tackles in 12 games.
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who helped lead the Giants to a Super Bowl XLII title at the same position, has had his hands full trying to bring the best out of his linebackers this year, as New York has entered 2015 as a shorthanded, defensively flawed team. Beason's return is a major plus for a Giants team in desperate need of notching its first win of the 2015 season.
