Shedeur Sanders Posts Hype Video Ahead of 1st Browns Start of 2026 NFL Season vs. Saints

Ahead of his first start of the 2026 regular season, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders posted a hype video on Saturday.

Along with the caption, "Thank you GOD $²," Sanders posted the video, which includes highlights from his NFL career thus far, on his Instagram account:

Sanders has served as Deshaun Watson's backup this season, but with Watson in concussion protocol, the former University of Colorado standout is getting the start on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, Sanders appeared in eight games and started seven of them as a rookie, going 3-4, and completing 56.6 percent of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while also rushing for 169 yards and a score.

After missing the entire 2025 season with an Achilles injury, Watson healed up and returned to compete with Sanders for the starting job during the preseason.

Watson won the competition, and although many considered it a controversial decision by head coach Todd Monken, it has paid dividends thus far.

The Browns have been one of the NFL's most pleasant surprises so far this season with a record of 5-3, and Watson has largely played well, completing 65.5 percent of his passing attempts for 1,806 yards, seven touchdowns and three picks to go along with 217 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Sanders has played sparingly this season as a result of Watson's solid performances, but it will be up to the second-year signal-caller on Sunday to keep things rolling for the playoff-contending Browns.
