Watch Oklahoma HSFB Teams Decide Playoff Fates with Coin Toss in Restaurant Parking Lot
This year's Oklahoma high school football playoff picture came down to a literal coin toss.
Three programs on the bubble of the state's playoff picture determined which two schools would head to the postseason in a late night coin toss, according to a video shared by Tulsa Football's Jeremie Poplin.
The toss-up between Gore, Liberty and Central high schools took place in the parking lot outside a catfish restaurant, per 2 News Oklahoma's TJ Eckert. The results sent Liberty and Central to the postseason.
The coin toss took place after the three programs finished the season even in tiebreakers including head-to-head results and point differentials, per KOCO News 5's Jonathan Greco.
This isn't the first time a game of chance has determined a high school football playoff spot. Last November, a coin toss in a Texas parking lot between representatives of Amarillo, Lubbock and Caprock high schools decided the results of their district's postseason race.
