New Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors Reveal Giants' John Harbaugh's Stance to Land Colts RB

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh is reportedly motivated to acquire Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor.

SNY's Connor Hughes reported that while some league sources "vary in whether they believe a Taylor trade actually gets done," several others are "hellbent in their conviction that Harbaugh will do whatever he can to get him, seeing an opportunity for New York to make a run."

In his first year in the Big Apple, Harbaugh has led the Giants to the top spot in the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record. However, New York's rushing attack has struggled to find consistency this year, and starter Cam Skattebo is hobbled by a hamstring injury.

Harbaugh knows how important it is to have a workhorse running back, as he spent his final few years with the Baltimore Ravens feeding carries to five-time Pro Bowler Derrick Henry. Taylor would undoubtedly be able to handle a similar workload, but Hughes noted that there's some skepticism about whether he gets traded by Tuesday.

"Others, familiar with what the Colts are asking for, believe the price is so steep Indianapolis isn't actually interested in dealing him," Hughes stated. "He'll remain with them throughout this season, with a trade revisited in March."

The Giants were expected to be rebuilding in their first year under Harbaugh, but he's instituted a swift turnaround that provides hope for a playoff run. With the right moves, New York could put itself in a position to compete against the elite teams in the NFC. It remains to be seen if Harbaugh will get his wish to acquire Taylor.
