New Eagles Rumors on Potential of Rebuild at NFL Trade Deadline Amid Struggles, Jalen Hurts' Absence

Despite losing six straight games and being without star quarterback Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly aren't planning on phoning it in for the rest of the year.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano predicted that the Eagles will not kick off a rebuild by shipping away some of their top players ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

"My sense is the Eagles could be trading some players but likely won't engage in a rebuild," Fowler stated. "As one source pointed out, that's not in the Eagles' organizational DNA. We already know they aren't trading running back Saquon Barkley. Look, let's not be naive -- general manager Howie Roseman will take advantage of good value if it's there, and supporting players are surely on the radar. But dealing big names would be a mild surprise."

Fowler went on to name Philadelphia defensive tackle Moro Ojomo as a player who is generating "real interest" on the trade market, with the Jacksonville Jaguars leading the pursuit. Still, there's some skepticism about whether the team would make any major changes.

Graziano agreed that he doesn't "anticipate a big selloff" and outlined the more likely scenarios for the Eagles.

"First off, they're very cap-leveraged because of the way they structure their veteran contracts, and trading some of them would make that worse with dead money hits accelerating into this season," Graziano explained. "If the Eagles trade away players, I'd be looking at guys like [Riq] Woolen, WR Hollywood Brown and maybe, maybe tight end Dallas Goedert for the right offer. If they're adding, I would expect it to be players who are signed beyond this season."

The Eagles (2-6) will try to end their losing streak on Sunday against the New York Giants (4-2-1), and their performance in that game could determine their outlook for the trade deadline.
