Daniel Jones Trade Landing Spots Floated by Adam Schefter amid Colts' Fire Sale at NFL Deadline

The Indianapolis Colts have already traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, all while speculation continues around Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs.

However, they could make a "curveball" trade ahead of the NFL's Nov. 10 deadline.

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested on the Adam Schefter Podcast that quarterback Daniel Jones could be a surprise trade candidate. He went as far as to list the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings as potential landing spots.

"I know we're focused on Taylor and Downs, as we should be, and I'm not telling you that they're trading Daniel," Schefter said (10:40 mark). "I'm just telling you sometimes it's the curveball that you don't see."

Jones has just one season remaining on his deal past the 2026 campaign and has looked like anything but the Colts' long-term franchise quarterback this season. He has just five touchdown passes to nine interceptions, and the Colts are 2-6 in his starts.

While it is fair to assume it may take some time for him to return to form after he tore his Achilles last season, he will also turn 30 years old before the 2027 season and is not signed for the foreseeable future.

Indianapolis is largely playing out the string on what is turning into a lost season, and it could get more draft capital in return in an effort to accelerate the rebuilding process it is staring at if it does decide to move on from Jones.

The Ravens make logical sense, as they are a presumed contender in the AFC with Derrick Henry, Zay Jones and a talented defense. However, Lamar Jackson (thumb) and Tyler Huntley (turf toe) are both sidelined. They were forced to turn to emergency quarterback Joe Fagnano during Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Baltimore is desperate for a quarterback at this point in an effort to turn things around before it is too late in the season, and the Colts could get quite the return for Jones.

As for the Vikings, they are 6-1 in large part in spite of Kyler Murray. He is 26th in the league in QBR, per Pro Football Reference, and is lowering the ceiling for a roster that could otherwise be a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

While Jones may not be a massive upgrade, he was a backup for the team in 2024 and has some familiarity in place.
