Ravens Sign New QB to Contract, Announce Week 9 Starter After Lamar Jackson & Tyler Huntley Injuries
The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Kedon Slovis to their roster, the team announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old quarterback was previously signed to the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.
In addition to signing Slovis, the Ravens announced rookie Joe Fagnano will start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars:
Slovis began his professional career with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. In the following years, the BYU product bounced around the league for brief practice squad stints with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals before landing with the Packers this offseason.
Slovis remains mostly an unknown on the field. He's only taken five snaps in the regular season, all of which came with the Arizona Cardinals during the 2025 season. Still, he provides Baltimore with much-needed relief at quarterback after a nightmarish game on Sunday left them with three injured quarterbacks.
Two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury on Baltimore's first offensive snap against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Ravens were forced to rely on the emergency third-stringer Fagnano after backup quarterback Tyler Huntley also went down with a toe injury during the 36-10 loss.
The Ravens had high hopes for the 2026 season, but their playoff aspirations have taken a significant blow. After a promising start to the season, Baltimore has lost three consecutive games to fall to a 4-4 record and last place in the AFC North.
