New NFL Trade Rumors Reveal 'Multiple Teams' Eyeing Josh Sweat amid Cowboys Buzz
Ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Josh Sweat has reportedly emerged as one of the top names on the market.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Tuesday that "multiple teams would have interest" in acquiring Sweat, but the asking price is "believed to be high." ESPN's Adam Schefter recently reported that the Dallas Cowboys are "a team to watch" for Sweat leading up to the deadline.
The Cowboys got an up-close look at Sweat in Sunday's 33-30 upset loss to the Cardinals in overtime. The 29-year-old produced a season-high six total tackles and a sack to help secure the victory, which improved Arizona's record to 3-5 despite its rebuilding year.
While Dallas would surely have competition in trying to trade for Sweat, the team badly needs some upgrades on defense. The Cowboys rank last in the NFL with 385.4 total yards allowed per game and 152.8 rushing yards allowed per game. At 3-5, the team doesn't appear to be the title contender it was expected to be entering the 2026 campaign.
A former Pro Bowl selection, Sweat has recorded at least six sacks in each of the last six seasons. The veteran edge rusher would be a major addition to any defense, but it would take a lot to convince Arizona to let him go.
Schultz went on to add that despite Sweat's openness to being traded, the Cardinals have "given the impression they're fine keeping him."
It sounds like Sweat could be staying put if Arizona's demands aren't met, so it remains to be seen how desperate Dallas or any other team is to get him.
