Caleb Williams, Bears Beat Seahawks, Box Score Stats & Highlights for Darnold, JSN, Swift, More
The Chicago Bears look like Super Bowl contenders.
Chicago defeated the reigning-champion Seattle Seahawks 34-17 in Monday's NFC showdown at Lumen Field to improve to 6-2 overall with its third straight win. Caleb Williams was in full control of the offense, while D'Andre Swift scored three touchdowns as the Bears offense set the tone.
As for Sam Darnold and Seattle, it fell to 4-4 on the season and just 2-4 in its last six. The playoffs are far from a guarantee at this point and will require better play that what was on display Monday.

The lead up to this highly anticipated showdown only added more hype, as the Bears traded for defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and the Seahawks traded for offensive lineman Quenton Nelson. They battled each other for years in the AFC South, and the moves were a further sign both of these teams are all in on chasing the Lombardi Trophy.
It was a good-on-good Monday night matchup and a chance to make a statement, and Chicago made the opening one when Williams directed a 17-play, 80-yard drive that included a fourth-down conversion, some tight-window throws and a touchdown strike to Luther Burden III for the game's first points.
The visitors eventually built a double-digit lead in the second quarter and had plenty of momentum after Simmons notched his first sack for his new team, but Smith-Njigba is also inevitable.
Seattle's star receiver broke free shortly before the half for a massive 43-yard touchdown that swung the momentum his team's way despite a four-point deficit at intermission.
But it didn't last long.
The Seahawks defense isn't accustomed to giving up long, time-consuming drives, but they gave up another one in the third quarter when Williams marched the Bears 69 yards on 10 plays. Swift finished the drive of more than six minutes with a touchdown run, which put Chicago back up double digits.
As if that wasn't troubling enough for Seattle, Austin Booker blocked a field goal on the ensuing possession to maintain the two-score advantage early in the fourth quarter.
Just when it seemed like Chicago was going to put it away, Seattle's defense made a play like it has all year. It forced a Colston Loveland fumble, which the offense parlayed into a touchdown pass from Darnold to Cooper Kupp and a two-point conversion to cut the deficit to three.
That put all the pressure on the Bears to respond on the road.
And respond they did.
Chicago answered with Swift's second touchdown of the game, although the biggest play of the drive was a 39-yard gain by Kalif Raymond for a key third-down conversion.
From there, James Lynch picked off a batted ball to set up Swift's third touchdown and create all the breathing room the visitors needed.
The Bears now return home for a matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Seahawks will look to bounce back when they host the Arizona Cardinals.
