Angel Reese Reveals Break from Podcast After WNBA Season, 'I'm Dedicating This Offseason to Myself'

After a long WNBA season that ended with the Atlanta Dream losing in the Finals, Angel Reese plans to spend her offseason recovering and getting better.

That means she'll be taking time off from her podcasts as she is "dedicating this offseason to myself," she announced on Monday on Instagram

Reese is coming off the best season of her young career, averaging 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. She earned her first Defensive Player of the Year award as well as an All-WNBA Second Team nod and an All-Defensive First Team honor.

Behind Reese's outstanding season, the Dream, who traded for Reese last offseason, finished the regular season 30-14. They swept the Washington Mystics and the New York Liberty en route to their first WNBA Finals since 2013, but came up short against the Golden State Valkyries in seven games.

"It's tough. Especially with a good group, a great group, that I've honestly had the honor to battle with all year," she told reporters after losing Game 7 on Saturday. "They changed my life, and I'm so grateful for them. And I'm so thankful for them. It is tough in the moment, but we'll be back. And I always say, 'Delayed not denied.' This is only year three—[my teammates have] a lot more years left too—but I'm just really grateful I got to go to war with this group. I would do it again, all over again."

Unfortunately for basketball fans, Reese's break this offseason seemingly means she won't participate in Unrivaled, which she has played in the last two seasons. She was not included among the 48 players announced for this year's roster.

But the Dream star will surely be fired up heading into the WNBA season as she tries to get her squad back to the Finals.
