Aaron Glenn, Dan Quinn Hot Seats Updated by NFL Insider After Jets' Loss, Commanders' Win
There are a number of teams around the NFL who likely have head coaches on the hot seat at the moment. It wouldn't be surprising if the New York Jets (2-6) and Washington Commanders (2-4-1) were among them.
But following Sunday's results—the Jets lost 38-33 against the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Commanders walloped the Eagles, 27-10—those seats may be diverging in temperature.
As Albert Breer of SI.com wrote, "The clock seems to be ticking on Jets coach Aaron Glenn now. Conversely, Commanders coach Dan Quinn has been able to settle some choppy waters."

Current NFL Playoff Picture
There is some important context to consider here. The Jets have basically no chance of winning the AFC East at this point with the Buffalo Bills (6-1) and New England Patriots (5-3) nestled in at the top, and they would have to leapfrog seven teams to earn a Wild Card bid. For all intents and purposes, their season is already sunk barring a miraculous turnaround.
The Commanders, on the other hand, are just two games back of the New York Giants (4-2-1) in the mediocre NFC East. While a Wild Card berth is almost certainly out of the question—like the Jets, they would need to leapfrog seven teams to pull that off—winning the division is actually feasible.
The Commanders will need to start consistently winning games, of course. But there is hope in Washington, and while that hope remains, it may be enough to keep Quinn off the hot seat.
