Giants, Vikings 'Most Aggressive' in RB Trade Talks, NFL Rumors Reveal amid Jonathan Taylor Buzz
As the trade market around the Indianapolis Colts and star running back Jonathan Taylor continues to swirl, keep an eye on the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.
According to Albert Breer of SI.com, the Colts have "let teams know they'll have to be blown away to trade" Taylor, but the "Giants and Vikings have been most aggressive in looking for running backs on the trade market the last couple weeks."
The Giants could use a more dynamic, home-run hitting option in the backfield to complement John Harbaugh's preferred way of playing. Taylor and Cam Skattebo would be quite the one-two punch, though whether the Giants are at the stage in their rebuild where they should be giving up draft assets for a 27-year-old running back is certainly debatable.
The Vikings, meanwhile, desperately need some more juice on the offensive side of the ball. Their 6-1 record to this point is largely down to a swarming defense and excellent special-teams unit, but Kyler Murray and the offense have struggled. Taylor would undoubtedly provide a spark.
But adding a three-time Pro Bowler in the backfield won't come cheap. Breer believes it will ultimately cost a team a Christian McCaffrey-esque return (second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-round picks across two drafts). Whether the Giants or Ravens—or any other team around the NFL—is willing to take that plunge remains to be seen.
