Justin Herbert 'Looks Incredibly Uncomfortable with Everything They're Doing,' Says Rival NFL Coach

As the Los Angeles Chargers continue to sink, moving to 0-7 on the season, it's becoming more apparent by the day that Justin Herbert and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel are a poor fit.

"The quarterback looks incredibly uncomfortable with everything they're doing," an offensive coach from another team told The Athletic's Mike Sando on Monday.

McDaniel's scheme suited quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. But Herbert—who has thrown for 1,398 yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions, completing 61.8 percent of his passes while taking 23 sacks—is floundering.

"Herbert is a big, long, long-release classic pocket passer who can scramble," a coach added. "He is not one of these quick-feet, quick-release guys. He's the opposite of Tua [Tagovailoa]."

Either McDaniel eventually adjusts to that, or his time as offensive coordinator will be limited. There doesn't seem to be much room for nuance left as the team looks to end a seven-game losing streak.
