Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream came up just short of a championship, falling to the Golden State Valkyries by the final score of 68-63 in Game 7 of the 2026 WNBA Finals on Saturday night.

It marked a tough end to an impressive overall year by Reese in which she received her third consecutive All-Star nod while also earning Defensive Player of the Year honors.

During Atlanta's entire playoff run, she averaged 16.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point territory.

Reese pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked two shots in Game 7, but scored just eight points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Still, it's hard to imagine the Dream being in a spot to compete for a championship on Saturday without the 24-year-old's heroics throughout the postseason.

Reese recorded 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game during Atlanta's first-round victory over the Washington Mystics before averaging 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks on a nightly basis as the Dream swept the New York Liberty in the semifinals.

Atlanta made its first WNBA Finals appearance since 2013.

Despite ultimately being unsuccessful in the quest for a championship this season, the future is still bright for Reese and the Dream.
