Now, he's looking to reclaim the super middleweight title that has been with him for much of his career against a champion who is 31 and has an unbeaten record of 29-0-1.

The biggest question surrounding this fight is whether Alvarez still has enough game to beat someone who will push the pace.

Mbillis' best attribute is his willingness to throw leather. He's an aggressive combination puncher who likes to push the pace.

Historically, those have been the kind of fighters who Canelo has flourished against. His tactical counter-punching has helped him neutralize fighters who are going to rush him in the past.

It's one of the reasons Alvarez said he wanted this fight.

"He's going to throw a lot of punches, I'm a counter-puncher," he told Matt Astbury of DAZN. "It's going to be a hard fight, but I enjoy that type of fight because at the end of the day, it's a lot of action, you can show a lot of things and you don't need to chase anything."

The question is whether Alvarez still has the reflexes and hand speed to counter. The superstar is now 36 with 21 years of professional fights under his belt. This will be the 69th time he makes the walk to the ring.

Mbilli is not an experienced world champion, but he is unbeaten in 30 professional fights with a belt to show for it.

However, Alvarez hasn't shown that much decline. He's not in his prime, but his loss to Crawford doesn't necessarily forecast a loss to someone on Mbilli's level.

This should be another demonstration of Alvarez's skill on the way to another win.
