Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur React to Christian Watson's Return from Hospital During Packers' Win
Green Bay Packers players and fans alike were holding their breath in the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Carolina Panthers when Christian Watson was taken out of Lambeau Field in an ambulance.
But by the end of the third quarter, the wide receiver was not only back in the building but on the field.
"Man, that was crazy. It was a lot of people cheering. Stuff was going on," quarterback Jordan Love told reporters. "I didn't know what was happening. Then I see Christian running out, and he's just resurrected. It was great to see him."
Watson finished the 27-19 win with 113 yards on eight receptions. He had 100 yards before exiting in the first half.
"The grit to go back in the game, he had a heck of a night," head coach Matt LaFleur said (4:00 mark). "Can't imagine what he would've had had he not missed so much time."
The injury occurred after Watson caught a deep ball from Love and landed awkwardly. He said that he wanted to return to the game but had to go to the hospital after spitting up blood.
While it was a remarkable comeback for Watson, the injury will surely be something to monitor over the next week as the Packers ensure he's 100 percent before their next game.
