New NFL Trade Rumors on Top Targets for Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings, Steelers Before Deadline

Paul KasabianOct 30, 2026

NFL teams have already engineered seismic deals in advance of the November 10 trade deadline, but more may be on the horizon.

Following the Green Bay Packers' 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, NFL insider James Palmer reported on Prime about the latest news regarding some contending teams.

Kansas City Chiefs: "The Kansas City Chiefs, to my understanding, have been working the phones for weeks here trying to get a wide receiver for Patrick Mahomes. Is that Brian Thomas Jr.? Is that Josh Downs? They've been kind of weighing all their options. [General manager] Brett Veach has done this before, let's see if he can do it again."

Denver Broncos: "They are one of the teams that is monitoring the Jonathan Taylor situation. It's still more likely that he stays there in Indianapolis, but they are keeping an eye there."

Minnesota Vikings: "The Vikings' new general manager, Nolan Teasley, is looking at everything. He's a madman on the phones, I'm told. They're looking at running back and looking at tight end."

In addition, Palmer said the Detroit Lions would "love some cornerback help," and the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for wide receiver help.

Big names have already changed teams, including left guard Quenton Nelson (to the Seattle Seahawks), defensive tackles Jeffery Simmons (to the Chicago Bears) and DeForest Buckner (to the San Francisco 49ers), Marvin Harrison Jr. (to the Houston Texans) and Joey Porter Jr. (to the Dallas Cowboys). More could be on the way.

Breaking down Palmer's report further, the 5-1 Chiefs need some wide receiver help. Tyquan Thornton leads the wideouts in receiving yards (219), and he has played only four of six games after suffering a dislocated left ankle.

The 5-2 Broncos haven't gotten the run game going, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry. Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (765 total yards, eight touchdowns) would certainly help, although it appears he more likely than not will stay with his current team.

The 6-0 Vikings, who are the last undefeated team remaining, need offensive help. Minnesota has the best scoring defense but sits 23rd in points per game.

The 4-2 Lions have allowed the second-most passing touchdowns (16) and sit 26th in scoring defense.

The 5-2 Steelers' wideout room has been affected by injuries. Roman Wilson (dislocated finger on his left hand) and Michael Pittman Jr. (plantar fasciitis in his left foot) are both on injured reserve.

Overall, expect more movement on a busy trade front as the deadline sits just under two weeks away.
