The Chargers are hoping to get more pressure on the quarterback this season and the return of star linebacker Shawn Merriman will give the team a huge boost. Phillip Rivers is a proven elite quarterback in this league and has the full respect of his teammates after leading the team to numerous comeback victories and playing through injuries threw his short career. On the NFC side the Philadelphia Eagles are +800 favorites to win the Super Bowl. Michael Vick was acquired in the offseason giving the Eagles a big play threat in a possible wildcat formation. McNabb will have the services of Brian Westbrook once again and is hoping for a bonafide #1 receiver to break out this year. The 2007 Super Bowl Champions New York Giants are +900 to win the 2009 Super Bowl. Eli Manning will be without the services of big play wide receiver Plaxico Burress and he too like Donovan McNabb are hoping that one of his young wideouts can step up and become a bonavide #1 NFL type receiver that commands double teams from opposing secondaries. The Minnesota Vikings acquired Bret Favre and will use him as their starting quarterback and this moved shot them up in the sports betting.
