Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians announced Thursday, per Arizona's official Twitter account, Peters will miss the entirety of the 2015 season after tearing his Achilles. The 27-year-old played in 15 games for the Atlanta Falcons last year, making 26 combined tackles and two sacks.
In March, Peters signed a three-year, $10.5 million deal with the Cardinals. He has a history with Achilles injuries, having suffered another one in December 2013.
ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss reported Rodney Gunter will take over first-team duties at nose tackle with Peters out. Arizona selected Gunter in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.
