Saquon Barkley and 6 Other Players Eagles Should Move at 2026 NFL Trade Deadline After Latest Loss
Following Monday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles should pivot their focus to the future. General manager Howie Roseman could trade older veterans and players on expiring contracts for draft capital before the November 10 deadline.
At 2-5, without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who's dealing with blood clots, the Eagles are unlikely to make a run at a playoff spot. Keep in mind that 14-year starting right tackle Lane Johnson retired after Week 4. Soon after that, Philadelphia traded two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens.
Philadelphia doesn't need a full roster reset, but it makes sense to gauge the trade value of players who aren't part of the team's long-term plans.
We'll start with star running back Saquon Barkley, who's banged up but has been in the trade rumor mill.
RB Saquon Barkley

Contract expires/voids: 2029
The Eagles have Saquon Barkley under contract for two more seasons, but he turns 30 in February. General manager Howie Roseman can get ahead of the star running back's potential decline by trading him this year.
Barkley has already missed two games with a hamstring injury and didn't finish the last outing because of a back injury. He's running behind an offensive line that lost two starters early this month, Lane Johnson and Cam Jurgens, so the three-time Pro Bowler will probably struggle in Philadelphia for the remainder of the season.
With the possibility that Barkley's trade value takes a hit after a lackluster 2026 campaign, the Eagles could try to trade him now to maximize their return.
The Athletic's Zach Berman believes the Eagles will have "tougher debates" about how to handle Barkley's situation if they receive strong trade offers, but if a running back-needy team like the Minnesota Vikings calls with an aggressive proposal, Roseman should at least listen to the pitch.
While Barkley is probably the least likely of the Eagles' trade candidates to be moved, he would likely bring the most value in return if he's healthy enough to play in the short term.
LB Zack Baun

Contract expires/voids: 2028
Like Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun is a key contributor from the Eagles' 2024 Super Bowl team. After four years mostly as a backup with the New Orleans Saints, he revived his career in Philadelphia and became an All-Pro, Pro Bowl-caliber playmaker as the centerpiece of Vic Fangio's defense.
However, Baun will be 30 in December, and the Eagles selected linebacker Jihaad Campbell in the first round of the 2025 draft. The second-year pro leads the team in tackles and is establishing himself alongside Baun.
If the Eagles are open to trading Baun, they could elevate 2024 fifth-rounder Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to a larger role, then reassess the position before the 2027 draft.
Baun is still one of the league's top linebackers in coverage, allowing a 72.6 passer rating. He's a three-down defender, but because of his age and Campbell's emergence, Philadelphia may be willing to trade the two-time Pro Bowler.
WR Hollywood Brown

Contract expires/voids: 2027
Philadelphia signed Hollywood Brown to a one-year, $5 million deal this past offseason. He enjoyed his most productive seasons in 2021 and 2022 with the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals, respectively, recording at least 67 catches and 709 receiving yards in each campaign.
At this stage in Brown's career, he could be a solid No. 3 target. In 2025, with the Kansas City Chiefs, the eighth-year pro hauled in 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns, but he's only been active for two games in Philadelphia.
Unless DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) are out for an extended period, Brown is the most likely candidate on this list to be traded before the deadline.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers are calling around the league for wide receiver help. The Eagles could trade Brown back to the Chiefs or move him across Pennsylvania to Pittsburgh.
TE Dallas Goedert

Contract expires/voids: 2027
Dallas Goedert hasn't played through a full season since his 2018 rookie campaign. He's missed 11 games over the past three years, including two this season due to a sprained MCL.
Goedert will turn 32 by the end of the season. His long-term future in Philadelphia is uncertain, especially with rookie second-rounder Eli Stowers on the roster.
The Eagles activated Stowers from injured reserve for the previous game. He's a raw tight end talent who has to make up for lost time, but the 23-year-old can make plays in the passing game.
Over his last three years in college, Stowers caught 146 passes for 1,773 yards and 11 touchdowns. If his pass-catching ability translates to the pro level, he would be a solid replacement for Goedert, who was also a second-round pick in his draft class.
DT Moro Ojomo

Contract expires/voids: 2027
Following a solid 2025 season with 38 tackles (six for loss) and 21 pressures, Moro Ojomo generated buzz as a player who could get an extension, but the Eagles signed fellow defensive tackles Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter to multiyear deals.
The Eagles have Davis and Carter on the books for the next four years, so it's unlikely they'll sign a third defensive tackle to a lucrative multiyear contract.
In six contests, Ojomo has 13 tackles (two for loss) and nine pressures. Although his sack rate is down, he's a solid interior defensive lineman who plays 61 percent of the defensive snaps.
Ojomo could draw interest from a team like the Green Bay Packers, who lost defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (torn Achilles) for the season.
WR Dontayvion Wicks

Contract expires/voids: 2028
This past offseason, the Eagles acquired Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers to remodel their wide receiver corps prior to trading A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots.
Wicks started the season strong, catching seven passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in the first two weeks, then had a couple of quiet outings in losses to the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams. He caught five passes for 63 yards in Week 5, then struggled with backup quarterback Tanner McKee under center in Week 6.
Wicks didn't suit up Monday night because of an ankle injury. He'll be without his starting quarterback for the rest of the season, which will likely limit his production.
Philadelphia also traded up for Makai Lemon in the first round of this year's draft. He had a solid Monday night performance, catching seven passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Darius Cooper recently emerged as a viable deep threat and red-zone target. With DeVonta Smith leading the receiver corps, the Eagles would have a solid trio of wideouts without Wicks.
With 19 receptions for 284 yards and a touchdown in six games, Wicks could attract trade suitors looking for a solid No. 2 receiver. Roseman could get a middle-round pick for him.
CB Riq Woolen

Contract expires/voids: 2027
Philadelphia's 27th-ranked pass defense has struggled, and Riq Woolen's coverage has declined compared to his four years with the Seattle Seahawks.
Woolen has allowed two touchdowns and a 100 passer rating in coverage. In each of his four seasons with the Seahawks, he allowed passer ratings below 80.
The Eagles signed Woolen to a one-year deal, so trading him wouldn't shake up their secondary long term. They can move him and elevate 11-year veteran Jonathan Jones into a starting role on the perimeter, where he's lined up most in recent seasons.
As a 27-year-old, 6'4" cornerback with length, Woolen should be able to fetch a middle-round pick on the trade block.
