Dillon Gabriel Activated Off Injured Reserve, Browns' Updated Depth Chart With Watson and Shedeur

The Cleveland Browns regained some depth to their quarterback room on Monday.

Dillon Gabriel, who has been on the injured reserve because of a back ailment, was activated to the active roster, the Browns announced Monday.

Starter	2nd	3rd	4th
Deshaun Watson	Shedeur Sanders	Dillon Gabriel	Taylen Green

The news likely doesn't change much for Cleveland, as Watson will almost certainly remain the starter given the way he's started the season. The veteran quarterback has thrown for 1,482 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions, leading the Browns to a surprising 5-2 start to the 2026 campaign.

If Watson were to get hurt, second-year player Shedeur Sanders would likely take over as the starter.

Gabriel, a third-round pick out of Oregon in 2025, appeared in 10 games last year, throwing for 937 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions before being replaced by Sanders to finish out the year.

Gabriel likely won't see much playing time in the coming weeks, but he'll at least be available if needed.
