Updated Landing Spots for Jonathan Taylor, Brian Thomas Jr. and Khalil Mack amid NFL Trade Rumors
Week 7 is almost complete, and we're roughly two weeks away from the 2026 NFL trade deadline.
We've already seen notable players like J.J. McCarthy and Marvin Harrison Jr. change teams via the trade market this season. We'll undoubtedly see more before the deadline arrives at 4 p.m. ET on November 10.
We still don't know who the NFL's top contenders are, and two of the league's last unbeaten teams fell on Sunday. However, we do have an idea of where some of the biggest needs reside and which playoff hopefuls could be eager to make moves at the deadline.
Here, you'll find updated predictions for some of the biggest names who could betraded, based on team needs, recent results, projected roles, and the latest buzz.
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in control of the AFC South with a 42 record. Logic would suggest that they're more likely to be buyers at the deadline than sellers. However, they have a prime trade chip and a potentially expendable piece in wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
The third-year pass-catcher has seen a dip in production since being a rookie Pro Bowler in 2024. He has just nine catches for 105 yards and a touchdown this season, and he was effectively benched during the second half of Jacksonville's Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans—Jacksonville was on bye this past week.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jags aren't actively looking to trade Thomas, but "teams are expected to ramp up calls closer to the deadline."
If Jaguars GM James Gladstone can get a first-round pick, as the Arizona Cardinals did for Harrison, he'd have to consider dealing Thomas. The San Francisco 49ers would be a terrific landing spot if he's available.
San Francisco suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, while playing without injured receivers Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel.

Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is probably the biggest name who has been floating around the pre-deadline rumor mill. The three-time Pro Bowler is 27, but he remains one of the top do-it-all running backs in the NFL.
Taylor is currently tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns with eight. He has logged 587 rushing yards, 178 receiving yards, and has averaged 4.9 yards per touch.
The Colts fired general manager Chris Ballard last week, and they fell to 2-5 on Sunday. While they may not be eager to engage in a fire sale, several teams are eager to add Taylor.
According to ESPN's Stephen Holder, "multiple teams" would be open to adding Taylor on the trade market.
While Taylor could help just about any running-back-needy team, the Minnesota Vikings make the most sense. They remain undefeated but have questions at running back after watching Aaron Jones exit Sunday's game with a knee injury.
Minnesota is still trying to settle quarterback Kyler Murray into its offense, and Taylor could help steady the process. According to Schefter, the Vikings have also held prior interest in Taylor.

Khalil Mack, Edge, Los Angeles Chargers

With the Miami Dolphins winning on Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers are the last remaining winless team in the NFL. According to Schefter, Los Angeles doesn't want to deal a key player like pass-rusher Khalil Mack, though teams like the Chicago Bears could keep calling about the future Hall of Famer:
At 0-6, the Chargers should be thinking about their future, and moving Mack would make plenty of sense in that context. He's playing on a one-year deal, and he would bring a sizeable return in a trade.
Mack has started all six games for L.A. this season and has recorded 19 tackles, three sacks, five tackles for loss, and 11 quarterback pressures.
Chicago would also be a sensible landing spot for Mack, and not just because he has a history there. The Bears moved to 5-2 with Thursday night's win over the New England Patriots, and their pass rush (19 total sacks) has been more good than great.
