Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups Highlighted by Jonah Coleman, Omar Cooper Jr., Caleb Douglas
Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season is almost finished.
If you're somehow not in need of roster reinforcements, congratulations for being among the most fortunate managers in all of fantasy football.
But since you opened this article, you're probably in the same camp as the rest of us: looking to plug holes that keep springing every week due to injuries, byes or the brutal combination of the two. So, let's find some viable plug-and-play replacements who are readily available with roster rates under 50 percent, per FantasyPros.
Jonah Coleman, RB, Denver Broncos (35% Rostered)

There haven't been many sources of inspiration among waiver-wire running backs but Coleman has a chance to break that mold a bit.
Granted, he's a rookie fourth-rounder in a crowded backfield, so expectations are probably best tempered. And a lot of this stems from a Week 7 showing that didn't include 70 scrimmage yards or a score.
That said, he looked pretty awesome in his return from injured reserve, as he needed just 11 touches (nine carries, two catches) to tally 69 scrimmage yards. It was the kind of jolt this offense has struggled to find from its running game, and it sounds like it could get Coleman into more prominent position in the pecking order.
If Coleman somehow grabs control of this backfield, he could be a real impact addition to any fantasy roster.
Omar Cooper Jr., WR, New York Jets (39% Rostered)

Cooper delivered an eye-opener in Week 6 (six receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown), but fantasy managers apparently needed more convincing.
After he effectively copy-pasted the production Week 7 (five receptions for 115 yards and a score), you'd think the convincing is covered now.
He has big-play burst (he's had at least a 30-yard catch in every game he's played), but he is seeing enough volume to avoid the volatility of a boom-or-bust downfield specialist. If the Jets are going to involve him, it looks like he's going to deliver.
Maybe it won't always be this productive, but the mere chance that it could be should have him rocketing above the roster percentage threshold for waiver-wire talks.
Caleb Douglas, WR, Miami Dolphins (13% Rostered)

If you're aiming for security on the waiver wire, Douglas shouldn't be the priority. There just isn't a lot of certainty with this passing game in general, and he has only seen three targets in each of his last two games.
If, however, you're in the market for upside, then you should probably have an interest in seeing where this might head. Because his return from a three-game absence was loaded with electricity, as he turned those three targets into two catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns.
Again, it's fair to question how often this passing game can produce big plays, but when it does, there's a good chance Douglas will be involved. He's a 6'4", 205-pounder with sub-4.40 speed. He absolutely aces the eye test.
Is consistency going to be part of his fantasy profile? Probably not, or at least not this early into his NFL career. That said, his big games could be week-winners, and he doesn't need to a ton of opportunities to put one together. If you can spare the space, or are desperate enough to go the lottery-ticket route, rostering Douglas and seeing what will happen makes a lot of sense.
