Maliek Collins, Browns Agree to $30M Contract Extension, Full Details and Updated Salary Cap

Paul KasabianOct 24, 2026

The Cleveland Browns and defensive tackle Maliek Collins have agreed on a two-year, $30 million extension ($23 million guaranteed).

Collins' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, revealed the news to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The 31-year-old is in his 11th NFL season. He's played for the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers and Browns.

Collins previously signed a two-year, $20 million contract ($13 million guaranteed) with the Browns during the 2025 offseason. He has a cap number of $5.3 million in 2026 and nearly $10 million in 2027.

This new deal keeps Collins around through the 2028 campaign. It's unclear what the exact cap numbers will be year-to-year. However, the Browns have a healthy amount of estimated effective cap space in 2027 ($38.8 million), per Over the Cap, the 11th-most in the NFL.

Cleveland is also listed with an estimated $48.9 million in cap space in 2028, per Over the Cap.

Collins' contract will carry $30 million in cap hits, so an average of $15 million per season if spread over two years. That will presumably be more palatable to take if the Browns do more work to create cap space through the likes of releases and restructures.

Collins is a big reason why the Browns are fifth in scoring defense and sit first in the AFC North. Over six starts, Collins has 3.5 sacks, 16 tackles (six solo) and eight quarterback hits.

He'll be around for a little longer, which should certainly make Browns fans happy as they enjoy this resurgent season.
