Latest on Brendan Sorsby's Prep for 2027 NFL Draft Revealed in New Rumors
Quarterback Brendan Sorsby is working with a former NFL coach to prepare for the 2027 draft, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Saturday on his Substack.
"Sorsby could emerge as one of the 2027 draft's top QB prospects... While he's not playing football this fall, Sorsby is getting plenty of work on the practice field," Pelissero reported.
According to Pelissero, Sorsby is spending the season working with former NFL quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello.

Scangarello worked for seven NFL teams from 2009 to 2024, including a stint as offensive coordinator for the 2019 Denver Broncos.
His tenure in the league included stints overlapping with Kyle Shanahan on the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers coaching staffs, Pelissero noted.
According to Pelissero, Scangarello is using that experience to teach Sorsby what language the 49ers' offense would use against NFL defenses.
"Each week, Scangarello installs two to three more 49ers offensive plays to beat specific looks each defensive play caller presents," Pelissero reported. "Then, Sorsby drills each aspect of the game plan—third down, protections, red zone, etc.—in three weekly throwing sessions tied to what he's learning."
Sorsby spent two seasons with Indiana before transferring to Cincinnati ahead of the 2024 season. Over two seasons with the Bearcats, he completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 5,613 yards with 45 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
The NFL ruled in June Sorsby would be eligible to participate in pre-draft activities including the Senior Bowl, pro day and team visits before entering the 2027 draft. Sorsby will hope his training sets him up for success during that span despite not having taken a game rep since November 2025.
