Dak Prescott Talks Cowboys Mindset for Eagles Game Amid 2-4 Start to NFL Season

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott detailed the team's approach to a Week 7 clash with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Prescott explained that the Cowboys' mindset is "determined, and I would hope urgent," according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

"We can only say we've got a lot of games in front of us for so long. Might be already past us, right? We've got to go win," Prescott said. "You've got to go win. You want to give yourself a chance to be a winning team, to be a playoff team. You got to win as many games as you can, and when you drop two games -- in particular games that we didn't expect to drop -- it makes it that much harder. So urgent, urgent to get it done now."

The Cowboys have opened the year with a 2-4 record, with three losses coming in their past four games.

Dallas' defense has continued to struggle, giving up at least 28 points in three of the team's six contests. The Cowboys are also allowing 382.5 total yards per game, ranking No. 30 in the NFL.

Prescott has started all six games for Dallas this season, completing 66.3 percent of his throws for 1,639 yards and 10 touchdowns compared to five interceptions.

Despite the Cowboys' slow start, they can still turn their season around and contend in the NFC East.

The New York Giants sit atop the division standings at 3-2-1, although J.J. McCarthy is set to become the team's third starting quarterback this year.

The Eagles are tied with Dallas at 2-4, but they're dealing with uncertainty under center after Jalen Hurts was ruled out for the remainder of the year following a blood clot diagnosis.

Dallas and Philadelphia will face off on Monday night, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
