A.J. Brown Called Out by NFL Fans, Fantasy Managers Amid Continued Struggles for Patriots vs. Bears

After struggling in his return from injury last week against the New York Jets, things didn't get any better for A.J. Brown in the first half of Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears.

The New England Patriots wide receiver had just two targets and one reception for 18 yards in the first half, getting very few looks from Drake Maye as New England went into the half trailing 20-14.

Amid Brown's quiet game, fans lamented another rough outing for the first-year Patriot.

The slow start from Brown comes after he had a career-high three drops last week against the Jets, recording just three receptions for 27 yards despite receiving 10 targets.

Brown said after the game that he was hoping to put the rough outing behind him and turn things around.

"Just tryna get going again, best foot forward, put this to be really fast," Brown said. "I'm gonna watch the tape. It's over. I'm gonna flush it."

All the drops last week perhaps made Maye hesitant to throw to Brown, so he might have some work to do to earn his trust back.

The Patriots traded for Brown, hoping he could help them get back to the Super Bowl after coming up short against the Seattle Seahawks, but New England hasn't gotten much from him so far.

He suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 and missed four games before returning to action last week.

Clearly, he's still getting comfortable with his new team, and he'll look to find his rhythm so he can finally start contributing to the offense the way fans expected him to.
