Lamar Jackson Injury Update, Latest on QB's Status for Ravens vs. Bengals After Practice Return

Julia StumbaughOct 22, 2026

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson could be a full participant in practice for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 4.

The Ravens shared a video of Jackson jogging out in uniform for the start of Thursday's practice after returning Wednesday in a limited capacity.

Multiple reporters shared video of Jackson participating in positional drills early in his return to practice.

The Ravens are preparing for a Sunday matchup against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

Jackson has not fully practiced since suffering a left ankle sprain Oct. 4, late in the first half of a Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. He has since sat out two games.

The quarterback was not present at the start of the media-viewing portion of Wednesday's practice. He was seen out of full uniform and with a compression sock on his left foot toward the end of the session, per The Baltimore Sun's Josh Tolentino.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter told reporters on Monday Jackson could "potentially" practice this week, but that the team was taking things "day by day."

Minter later said Jackson had been "able to get a little bit of limited work in" during Wednesday's session.

Jackson led the Ravens to a 3-1 start as he completed 70.8 percent of his passes for 967 yards with seven total touchdowns and one interception prior to his injury. Baltimore has since gone 1-1 with Tyler Huntley under center.

That has been enough to keep the Ravens (4-2) tied with the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers while remaining half a game ahead of the Bengals for the AFC North lead.

Whether Jackson is able to return in time for this weekend's matchup could ultimately play a role in which of these teams makes it out of the division this winter.
