Jeremiyah Love Injury Update, Latest Rumors on RB's Status for Cardinals vs. Broncos

Joseph ZuckerOct 22, 2026

Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.

An ankle injury sidelined the first-round pick for Arizona's 18-16 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6.

Bam Knight ran for 80 yards on 15 carries against L.A., and Tyler Allgeier chipped in with 38 yards on the ground.

The Broncos have been one of the NFL's worst teams against the run. They're 31st in yards allowed at 139.8 per game, and they're giving up 4.7 yards per carry.

The matchup would seemingly present a great opportunity for Love to get his rookie campaign on track after an inconsistent start. He has run for 245 yards and one touchdown while averaging 3.7 yards per carry in five appearances.

That's not the kind of return you want to see from a running back selected third overall.

Rather than taking advantage of Denver's porous defense, Love will have to wait another week to reestablish himself in Arizona's backfield.

Knight and Allgeier, meanwhile, have one more game to deliver the kind of performance that could force coach Mike LaFleur to rethink the hierarchy in the running game once Love is back healthy.
