Cliff Jumper Sets World Record with 193-Foot Jump off Switzerland Waterfall

Kyle NewportAug 19, 2015

At Switzerland's Cascata del Salto, Laso Schaller jumped off a platform and into the record book with his brave stunt.

According to Red Bull, Schaller set the world record with his 58.8-meter (192.9-foot) jump. In order to help with the jump and soften the impact, the crew put six tanks in the water to aerate it.

Some of the numbers on the jump are pretty mind-blowing. For starters, the water he jumped into was only about 26.2 feet deep. The cliff jumper reached a top speed of 123 kilometers per hour (76.4 mph) and went from the platform to the water in just 3.58 seconds.
