Titans Release Jordan Elliott After Confirming 'Incident at Our Team Facility'

Joseph ZuckerOct 20, 2026

The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday they released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott following "an incident at our team facility."

Elliott had appeared in five of the team's first six games. He recorded 11 combined tackles.

The 2020 third-round pick didn't appear in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Elliott signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Titans in the offseason. He previously suited up for the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers and was a regular starter for both teams.

Tennessee didn't disclose any details surrounding the "incident," but it likely explains why Elliott was sidelined in Week 6.

Coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi might see cutting the 28-year-old as a way to reset the organization's culture.

Elliott wasn't the only notable defensive player absent against the Colts. Cornerback Alontae Taylor, who's in the first year of his $58 million contract, was also inactive.

Elliott's exit is likely to grant more snaps to second-year tackle Nazir Stackhouse. Stackhouse was on the field for just 15 defensive snaps in Week 6 and still had three tackles in the Titans' first victory.
