Dominik Mysterio Talks WWE 2K26 Street Fighter DLC, Rey Mysterio, AAA, Judgment Day in B/R Interview
Another chapter is set to be written in WWE's working relationship with the Street Fighter video game franchise this month, and this time it involves "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio.
Mysterio is one of five WWE Superstars who will be included in the WWE 2K26 x Street Fighter Elite DLC Pack, which features wrestlers playing the roles of Street Fighter characters.
Dom is cast as Ken, and he's joined by Rey Mysterio as Ryu, Bianca Belair as Cammy, The Rock as M. Bison and Ultimate Warrior as Blanka.
The characters in the game are modeled specifically after WWE Mattel action figures depicting Superstars as Street Fighter characters, which makes it extra special from Dominik's perspective.
"I've been in a couple of 2K games with WWE the past couple years now, but this is special," Mysterio said. "It's Street Fighter, it's not only a DLC pack that you have to pre-order and get separately, but also they made it an action figure. I have a couple at the house, and it's in, like, an old arcade-style box, and they're super cool. I have a couple in my game room, and it's just cool to be a part of the whole Street Fighter franchise."
Dirty Dom revealed that he wasn't told about the Ken action figure ahead of time and didn't know about it until he saw photos. At that point, he instantly wanted to get one in his possession.
"I didn't know until I started getting tagged in the pictures of me as Ken, and I was like, 'What is going on? Did someone make this custom, or like, what is it,'" Mysterio said. "And then the company ended up telling me, like, 'Oh no, you're part of this DLC pack in 2K26.' And I was like, 'What? This is so sick.' I found out kind of like the old-fashioned way where I just kept getting tagged. And then as soon as I saw it, I was like, 'How do I get my hands on this action figure?'"
Ken has long been among the most popular characters in the Street Fighter video game franchise, which first launched in 1987 and truly rose to prominence with the release of Street Fighter II in 1991.
Dominik feels he and Ken have some similarities, noting that Ken's bio describes him as a fighter who comes to the United States to "get humbled because he's too cocky."
Dom also acknowledged that both he and Ken have luscious heads of hair, quipping that he may have to "golden up the tips of the good old mullet" at some point in order to match Ken.
Fittingly, Mysterio likes to play the Street Fighter video game series with some of his fellow WWE Superstars, and Ken is his character of choice when his back is against the wall in a "glass break in case of emergency" situation since he knows how to do all of his combos.
Dirty Dom called the chance to play as himself dressed like Ken in WWE 2K26 a "surreal" experience, although he didn't seem particularly thrilled to have to share the honor with his WWE Hall of Fame father, Rey Mysterio.
Ken and Ryu are best friends bordering on brothers in Street Fighter lore, and although Dominik and Rey are related by blood, they've been fierce, on-screen rivals for the past several years.
Often referring to Rey as his "deadbeat dad," Dominik expressed excitement over the chance to rough Rey up, whether it is in WWE 2K26 or in reality.
"Of course, I would do it in the game and real life," Dom said of beating up his dad. "Even if I gotta get a red gi and show up at his house and, you know, hit him with a good, old-fashioned swift kick. But yeah, I would definitely do some damage because he doesn't play video games. I'm an avid gamer myself, so I would put belt to ass."
Dominik went on to say that Rey has never beaten him in a video game, and that he is a "compulsive liar" if he suggests otherwise.
In addition to the excitement of being a key part of WWE's tie-in with Street Fighter, the younger Mysterio has some big things on the horizon from an in-ring perspective.
It starts with Héroes Inmortales on Saturday at Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City when he challenges El Grande Americano for the AAA Mega Championship.
Grande beat Dominik for the AAA mega title at Triplemanía 34 last month, ending his yearlong reign as champion.
Americano was aided by Rey Mysterio in that match, as the AAA general manager replaced the incapacitated referee and made the three count that crowned Grande the new champion.
Dom expects things to be different this time around, though, and he called his shot by predicting that he will become a two-time AAA mega champion.
"At Triplemanía we had an unauthorized referee that came in and made the count, so it shouldn't have counted," Dominik said. "And plus, Juan de la Barrera is Dirty Dom town when it comes to Mexico City, so he'd better come prepared because I'm taking what's mine, that's the AAA Mega Campeonato."
Along with his work in AAA, Mysterio has long been a fixture on the Raw roster as part of The Judgment Day stable with Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez and JD McDonagh.
Dominik is a two-time intercontinental champion, so it comes as little surprise that he has his sights set on getting his hands on championship gold once again in the near future.
"There's a lot of things I'd like to get done," Mysterio said. "I got some beef with [world heavyweight champion] Roman [Reigns] kind of. He tried to throw me out of the ring and end my career one time. Sami Zayn, on the other hand, we've got a lot of history with Sami and Kevin [Owens] in The Judgment Day, so maybe there's something over there with the WWE title on the line. Maybe I want my IC title back. Maybe I wanna go for the tag titles with JD, get him some gold too. Who knows? There's a lot of things I'd like to get done, but we're taking it one day at a time."
Dirty Dom seemingly always finds a way to get himself in the mix, and it will undoubtedly be worth watching what kinds of moves he makes on Raw in the weeks and months to come.
Until then, Mysterio is focused on regaining the AAA Mega Championship and doing some damage as the Ken version of himself in WWE 2K26.
The WWE 2K26 x Street Fighter Elite Pack officially drops on Oct. 28, complete with five unique characters, as well as special signature moves and 15 Create-a-Superstar parts related to iconic Street Fighter characters.
