Week 7 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Review for Fantasy Football's Top Fringe Starters

Kristopher KnoxOct 21, 2026

Another week of NFL action is in the books, and another round of notable injuries is set to impact the fantasy football landscape.

Ladd McConkey, Davante Adams, Terry McLaurin, Romeo Doubs, and Rashod Bateman were among those who exited with injuries in Week 6. In Week 7, managers may have to navigate their injuries, others, and a host of fantasy stars on bye.

The Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington Commanders will have the week off.

Here, you'll find start/sit recommendations for some fringe starters who could be in line to help fill the void. All picks are based on recent results, projected roles, individual matchups, and point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.

Quarterback

Cowboys Packers Football
Jordan Love

Start: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

A few rough early-season games have kept Jordan Love away from must-start territory, and he's still only rostered in 80 percent of leagues. However, the Green Bay Packers quarterback has started to find a rhythm with receivers Matthew Golden and Christian Watson and is on an upward trajectory because of it.

Love has topped 21 fantasy points in each of the past two weeks. He should have another strong outing this week when the Packers visit the rival Detroit Lions.

Detroit is coming off its bye and will have home-field advantage, but no team has surrendered more fantasy points to opposing QBs.

Sit: Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

It's probably time for managers to abandon Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, at least for the time being. He was miserable against the Denver Broncos in Week 6 and has looked nothing like the Pro Bowl signal-caller he was a year ago.

Darnold has topped 20 fantasy points only once this season.

Things won't get any easier for Darnold this week against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have surrendered the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs.

Running Back

Braelon Allen

Start: Braelon Allen, New York Jets

With Breece Hall sidelined by a quad injury, Braelon Allen has done a fine job of replacing him as the New York Jets' starter. He has topped 12 fantasy points in back-to-back games, and he's likely to have another strong outing in Week 7.

That is, if Hall doesn't make an unexpected return.

The Jets are set to host the Miami Dolphins, who have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

Sit: Tony Pollard, RB, Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard has traditionally been a serviceable volume-based running back. However, he has struggled along with the rest of Tennessee's offense this season and has gone consecutive weeks without a reception.

While Pollard has topped 13 fantasy points twice this season, he has fallen short of eight points in each of the last two weeks.

This week, the Titans will host an aggressive Cleveland Browns defense that will likely force Cam Ward to beat it. The Browns have surrendered the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs.

Wide Receiver

Denzel Boston

Start: Denzel Boston, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns rookie receiver Denzel Boston was a budding fantasy star but ran into a proverbial wall in Week 6. He had topped 12 fantasy points in four of his first five games but was limited to one 15-yard catch by the Baltimore Ravens.

However, Boston should rebound this week against the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans have a vastly underrated run defense, and the Browns have struggled to run the ball effectively, anyway. Cleveland should look to pass early and often against a defense that has yielded the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing receivers.

Sit: Devaughn Vele, New Orleans Saints

Devaughn Vele has emerged as the New Orleans Saints' second option at receiver and a viable flex streamer in fantasy. He had a modest three catches and 42 yards in Week 6, but he has reached double-digit fantasy points in three of his first six outings.

However, Vele should be considered a matchup-based play, and he does not have a favorable matchup in Week 7.

The Saints will play the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs this season.

Tight End

4 of 4
Cardinals Rams Football
Tyler Higbee

Start: Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee lost a fumble in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals and finished with just 2.2 fantasy points. However, the Rams lost No. 2 receiver Davante Adams to a hamstring injury, which could effectively make Higbee the No. 2 target next to Puka Nacua.

That would be an advantageous role against a Las Vegas Raiders defense that has surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.

Higbee, by the way, topped nine fantasy points in three straight games before Sunday's disaster.

Sit: Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is coming off a monster game (5 catches, 60 yards, 2 TDs) against the Chicago Bears, and he has reached double-digit fantasy points in consecutive weeks. However, he simply hasn't consistently been a focal point of Atlanta's offense this season.

Pitts failed to reach eight fantasy points in each of the first four weeks.

While there is a chance that Kevin Stefanski has finally figured out how to utilize Pitts, betting on that in Week 7 is a gamble. The Falcons will host the San Francisco 49ers, who have surrendered the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs.
