Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups Highlighted by Germie Bernard, Omar Cooper Jr., Tre Tucker

Zach BuckleyOct 19, 2026

One note for all of the fantasy managers who will soon work the waiver wire ahead of Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season: Hopefully you're in need of a pass-catcher.

While there are still some interesting options available in shallower leagues at quarterback (Kirk Cousins) and running back (Zach Charbonnet), wide receiver sits head and shoulders above the other positions in terms of potential impact among widely available players.

To help hammer that point home, let's dissect three receivers who are available in 50-plus percent of leagues (per FantasyPros) and should be waiver-wire priority pickups this week.

Germie Bernard, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (35% Rostered)

Fantasy managers probably should have picked up Bernard already last week, as his six-reception, 80-yard effort in Week 5 felt like an indication of bigger days to come.

The good news is managers have a second chance to correct this oversight. The urgent news is that those same managers almost certainly won't get a third crack at this.

Bernard was awesome in all ways fantasy managers could hope on Sunday. He saw a huge amount of opportunities (12 targets), made the most of those chances (11 receptions for 87 yards) and found his way to the end zone (one touchdown). The Steelers gave him a chance to show what he could do, and he seized the heck out of this moment.

Pittsburgh, which won both of Bernard's big outings, has no reason to rethink this strategy of upping the rookie second-rounder's involvement. So, again, you better act now, because his rostership should be rocketing up.

Omar Cooper Jr., WR, New York Jets (14% Rostered)

Only three words are needed to accurately sum up the Sunday showing by Cooper: worth the wait.

The rookie first-rounder returned from a four-game absence with an ankle injury and immediately looked like he was doing everything he could to make up for that lost time. He turned his team-high seven targets into six receptions for 103 yards and a score.

No other New York pass-catcher managed even 50 receiving yards.

While Garrett Wilson remains WR1 for the Jets, Cooper has a real shot at earning the WR2 role, at least until Adonai Mitchell returns from his finger injury. And if Cooper remains as productive as he was on Sunday, he might be heavily involved in the passing game plan regardless who lines up around him.

Tre Tucker, WR, Las Vegas Raiders (47% Rostered)

This maybe wasn't Bingo card-material in the preseason, but the Raiders boast one of the NFL's most prolific passing attacks. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is tied for the league lead with 14 touchdown passes, and his 1,582 passing yards rank fifth-most overall.

In other words, volume in this passing attack could carry a lot of fantasy-relevance. And Tucker is seeing more than enough volume to matter.

His 35 targets pace all Raiders receivers, and he just had his second monster effort of the season on Sunday. He hauled in five of his seven targets and turned them into 97 yards and two scores. He also had a 119-yard, one-score performance back in Week 2, so be careful about dismissing the performance as an anomalous flash in the pan.

Cousins sees legendary speed in Tucker and sounds eager to keep exploring this connection with downfield targets. Having the trust of a passer who is this productive could deliver season-long results.
