Kyle Juszczyk Slams CJGJ for Spitting on Him in 2025 After Bills DB's Ejection vs. Raiders

Timothy RappOct 18, 2026

Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected during Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders after spitting at Brock Bowers.

It didn't come as a major shock to San Francisco 49ers tight end Kyle Juszczyk.

"This is the least surprising thing ever," he wrote on social media while responding to a video of the incident. "CJGJ spit on me last year when we beat Chicago."

Players around the NFL don't seem particularly fond of CJGJ. In 2024, he was voted the league's most annoying player:

Coming into the 2026 campaign, Tim Graham of The Athletic noted that the volatile safety has been "fined 13 times for $194,924 over his seven NFL seasons."

That will likely increase significantly after this latest incident, which very well could include a suspension as well. The last two prominent spitting incidents involving Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter and Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase each resulted in one-game bans (Carter was ejected for spitting before his game and didn't receive additional punishment since he didn't technically play a game).

And despite the fact that he's undoubtedly talented—his 17-game averages of 73 tackles and four interceptions are solid marks for a free safety—he's also playing for his seventh different team in the past six seasons, a suggestion that perhaps his act wears thin inside of his own locker room.

"I want everybody to toe the line and, obviously, play with an edge," Buffalo head coach Joe Brady told reporters this week in response to CJGJ being penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct in last week's overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams and several other chippy moments. "But in all elements, we have to understand the situation, right? Allowing a 15-yard penalty when you've made a big stop, let's make sure that we're protecting the football team. I thought the guys did a good job around him of understanding the situation, but we can't put ourselves in those positions."

But yet again, CJGJ put his teammates in that position.
