Bradley Chubb Fined for Taunting in Exchange That Led to Alaric Jackson Punch After Bills-Rams
Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb has been fined $14,329 for taunting Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson after Buffalo's 37-34 road win over L.A. last Monday.
Chubb's remarks led to Jackson throwing a punch, and the NFL initially suspended the Ram for two games before reducing it down to one after an appeal.
Chubb told his side of the story to reporters on Wednesday.
"I'll tell you exactly what I said," Chubb began. "I've heard I was talking about his mom. That's not true at all. I said, 'We're gonna see y'all's ass again. And when we see you again, all that chipping ain't gonna save you. That tight end and guard is not going to save you.' He said, 'What'd you say?' I said, 'That chip's not gonna save you. The guard's not gonna save you.' And then boom."
ESPN's Sarah Barshop reported that Jackson and Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker were exchanging jerseys on the field before Chubb approached with some comments. Jackson punched Chubb after the remarks.
Chubb is in his eighth NFL season. The two-time Pro Bowler has played for the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Bills. He's made five starts in his first season for Buffalo, amassing 17 tackles, seven quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks.
Chubb and the first-place Bills will visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
