New NFL Trade Rumors on Brian Thomas Jr., Jauan Jennings & Top Landing Spots Ahead of Deadline

Julia StumbaughOct 17, 2026

The Jacksonville Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr. and Minnesota Vikings' Jauan Jennings are reportedly becoming trade targets for wideout-needy teams in the wake of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s move to the Houston Texans.

The Athletic's Jonathan Jones reported Saturday Thomas' name "continues to come up in conversations around the league as Parker Washington solidifies himself as the Jags' top wideout."

Jones speculated the Texans' willingness to give up a 2027 second-round pick for Harrison could help increase Thomas' trade price, but predicted the Jaguars won't be "in a rush" to trade the wide receiver.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported the same day on his Substack Jennings has "been the subject of trade speculation."

Pelissero predicted Jennings will nonetheless remain with the Vikings because "the team still believes Jennings can help it and Jennings wants to be in Minnesota."

The Jaguars (4-1) and Vikings (5-0) have until the Nov. 10 trade deadline to bolster their lineups for potential playoff runs this winter.

Thomas, like Harrison, is a former first-round pick who has seen his usage drop during the early stretch of the season. He has made just nine catches on 18 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown through five games of his third season with the Jaguars.

He most recently recorded no catches on three targets in the Jags' Week 5 win last Sunday over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The majority of Trevor Lawrence's targets have gone this season to Parker Washington, who is breaking out in the final season of his rookie contract with 22 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported in September the Jaguars and Washington had discussed an extension in the range of three years and $75 million but were "unlikely" to finalize a deal ahead of the season.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reported earlier this week he would not "be surprised if those discussions pick up again during the season."

The Jaguars reaching an extension with Washington could lock him in as the team's top wideout going forward and potentially increase the chances general manager James Gladstone would be willing to deal Thomas by the deadline.

Jennings has made just two catches for nine yards in four games despite being on the field for 201 offensive snaps since signing a one-year deal with the Vikings this offseason. ESPN and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently speculated a return to the San Francisco 49ers would make sense for Jennings given the team's injury loss of Deebo Samuel.

Whether Jennings sees more usage in the Vikings' pass attack over the team's three games between now and the trade deadline could impact whether the veteran wideout ultimately lands on the trade block.
