Bo Nix, Broncos Make Strange Statistical History in OT Win vs. Sam Darnold, Seahawks

Adam WellsOct 16, 2026

Even though Denver Broncos fans would like to see their team win a game with the offense looking closer to its 2025 form, the franchise did something on Thursday night it hadn't done in 43 years.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos' 168 yards of total offense against the Seattle Seahawks represented their fewest in a win since John Elway's first NFL start in 1983.

Elway's first start was the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished 1-of-8 for 14 yards and one interception. The Broncos were outgained 314-139, but they forced seven turnovers in a 14-10 victory.

Thursday's 17-14 overtime victory over the Seahawks wasn't quite that ugly, though it's not one that will go on the offensive highlight reel for the 2026 season.

Bo Nix finished 17-of-27 for 107 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. The Broncos ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.

The good news is Denver has won three of its last four games and sits at 4-2 going into a Week 7 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
