Ryan Fitzpatrick Rips Bo Nix for 'Almost Disrespectful' QB Play, 'Doesn't Want to Throw The Ball'

The Denver Broncos improved to 4-2 thanks to an overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, but Bo Nix's play through six games this season has led to a lot of frustration from fans and analysts.

Following the Broncos' 17-14 victory over Seattle, Ryan Fitzpatrick said on the Prime Video postgame show that Nix's play is "almost disrespectful" for the quarterback position.

Asked to specify what he means, Fitzpatrick said Nix "doesn't want to throw the football" because he is only targeting the flats and receivers behind the sticks.

Nix has thrown for fewer than 200 yards four times in six games. He has a total of 230 yards on 54 pass attempts in the last past two games.

For perspective, Nix's 4.3 yards per attempt during that period would be tied for 19th among all players in yards per carry on rushing attempts this season.

The only quarterback this season with a lower yards per attempt average than Nix's 5.6 is Atlanta Falcons undrafted rookie Jack Strand, who is at 3.9 on just 15 attempts.

If you want to give Nix some benefit of the doubt, the Broncos' opponents thus far have included the Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

Those are five of the top 11 defenses in the NFL by EPA per play. Next week should offer some respite for Nix when the Broncos play the Arizona Cardinals.
