Week 6 Waiver Wire Best Pickups and Sleepers With FAAB Analysis, Predictions

Kristopher KnoxOct 16, 2026

Many fantasy football managers will be looking for help off the waiver wire entering the bulk of the Week 6 NFL schedule. Injuries continue to impact the fantasy landscape in a big way, and several notable stars are on bye this week.

The Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings have Week 6 off.

While waiver claims have been processed in most leagues, a few standout sleeper options may still be available. Here, you'll find a look at some of the top remaining targets with analysis for leagues that utilize a free agent acquisition budget (FAAB) and some Week 6 predictions.

All picks and analysis are based on point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.

Jameis Winston, QB, New York Giants

Finding a viable starting quarterback this late in the week is tricky, but Jameis Winston is still only rostered in 15 percent of leagues. The New York Giants' starterโ€”who has taken over for the injured Jaxson Dartโ€”possesses a low floor but a high ceiling.

Winston can get careless with the football but is also capable of airing it out. He has topped 20 fantasy points in each of his last two games and has a reasonable matchup at home against the New Orleans Saints this week.

The Saints have surrendered an average of 17.1 fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.

Winston is worth targeting with roughly five percent of an FAAB budget because he projects as a solid streamer/backup for the rest of the season. Dart isn't coming off of IR. He's a strong fill-in for Joe Burrow or Jared Goff this week.

Week 6 Projection: 250 passing yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 10 rushing yards

Tyler Allgeier, RB, Arizona Cardinals

To be clear, Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier doesn't have a particularly friendly matchup in Week 6. The Cardinals are set to visit the rival Los Angeles Rams, who have only surrendered the 19th-most fantasy points to opposing RBs this season.

However, Allgeier's workload could allow him to deliver for fantasy managers. He's been a complement to rookie Jeremiyah Love all season, but Love is dealing with an ankle injury and could potentially sit in Los Angeles.

"We want to get this ankle right," Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said, per Darren Urban of the team's official website.

Allgeier is worth targeting in the range of 3-5 percent of an FAAB budget because of this week's upside and his status as a top fantasy handcuff. He's still only rostered in 44 percent of leagues.

Week 6 Prediction: 66 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 17 receiving yards, 1 TD

Germie Bernard, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers Bills Football

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie receiver Germie Bernard is worth targeting fairly aggressively because he should have solid long-term value. Michael Pittman Jr. is currently sidelined by a foot injury and has landed on injured reserve. The Steelers then lost emerging receiver Roman Wilson to a finger injury in Week 5.

Wilson is expected to miss multiple weeks.

Bernard showed that he can fill a sizeable role in Week 5, logging six receptions and 80 receiving yards. He's likely to maintain that role for the foreseeable future and can justify an FAAB of up to 10 percent of the budgetโ€”maybe even more in deeper leagues.

Bernard is only rostered in 30 percent of leagues and has an average matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (19th-most points allowed) this week.

Week 6 Projection: 5 receptions, 67 yards
