Everything Marvin Harrison Jr. Said About Texans-Cardinals Trade, Stroud, Viral Route-Running Videos

Timothy RappOct 14, 2026

Marvin Harrison Jr. is excited for a fresh start in Houston.

The veteran wide receiver spoke to reporters for the first time since he was traded to the Texans alongside a 2027 sixth-round pick for a 2026 second- and seventh-rounder, saying he was looking forward to his new situation:

"Great situation for me, being with quarterback you have rapport with," he told reporters referencing C.J. Stroud, his teammate at Ohio State.

As for what went wrong with the Arizona Cardinals, Harrison kept things close to the vest.

"I'll keep those things to myself," he told reporters. "I'm really just moving forward."

He also said he was able to lean on his father, Hall of Fame wideout Marvin Harrison, during the ordeal.

"We had that understanding, football is always a business," he told reporters.

Harrison, 24, was an incredibly hyped prospect coming out of Ohio State and was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. His rookie season was promising (62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns), but injuries cost him five games in 2025, his production was down and this season he seemed to be an afterthought in Arizona's offense.

Whether it was simply a poor fit or Harrison was dramatically overrated coming out of college remains to be seen. His quarterback clearly believes it was the former.

"It doesn't matter what people say," Stroud told reporters. "He's a heckuva player. I don't agree with some of the things people are saying about him. They can have their opinions. It doesn't really affect you unless you let it. He'll be fine. He's a confident dude. He'll be fine."
