Roman Reigns Reveals His Mount Rushmore, The Rock Featured amid WWE WrestleMania Rumors
WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns chose four of the biggest stars in the history of the business when asked to name his personal Mount Rushmore for professional wrestling on Wednesday.
During an appearance on Club Shay Shay with Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Reigns named Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock and John Cena as his Mount Rushmore picks.
Reigns explained the rationale behind his choices, saying, "Everybody always divides it up, like money drawers and ringers. To me, the only one thing—only one metric matters. The money. You know what I mean? And it's show business. The first day I went around the ring, my dad told me, 'Don't ever be confused. This ring is only about money. It's a business. Don't treat it any other way.'"

The OTC went on to express his belief that Hogan, Austin, The Rock and Cena each changed the pro wrestling business in their own unique ways.
"And those guys, I mean, when it came to the money and shifting the business and completely, you know what I mean, just changing the view of it, the optics of it, they all had their own way of doing that," Reigns said. "And they were all critical. We wouldn't be here today without those four, for sure. Many other men go into that category, and women for that matter, but those are kind of, to me, those are the big ones."
Hogan made WWE a household name in the mid-1980s and stayed on top into the early 1990s until his departure. He continued to draw in a massive way upon turning heel in WCW in 1996.
Meanwhile, Austin and The Rock are chiefly responsible for the explosion in popularity experienced by WWE during the Attitude Era in the late 1990s.
Cena essentially took the torch from Austin and The Rock, serving as the face of the company from shortly after the Attitude Era until Reigns' emergence as the unquestioned top guy in around 2020.
Hogan passed away last year, Cena is retired, and Austin is essentially retired, although he did come out of retirement for a match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.
The Rock competed more recently at WrestleMania 40, teaming with Reigns to beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the Night 1 main event.
Ever since then and even before, fans have speculated on a potential Reigns vs. The Rock match at WrestleMania.
However, Fightful Select (h/t Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp) reported last month that WWE is "operating on the assumption that The Rock will not be available" for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia in April 2027.
With that in mind, the onus is on Reigns, Rhodes and other current stars to put WWE on their back and carry it into the future, much like Reigns' Mount Rushmore picks did in the past.
