'Thiccer Kicker' Harrison Mevis Released by Rams After 2 Missed FGs vs. Bills, NFL Rumors Reveal
The Los Angeles Rams are releasing kicker Harrison Mevis and signing Blake Grupe off the New York Jets' practice squad, per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The 6'0", 245-pound Mevis, nicknamed "The Thiccer Kicker," missed two field goals in his team's 37-34 overtime home loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday evening. He pulled a 50-yard attempt wide left in the first quarter, and Bills linebacker Gregory Rousseau blocked Mevis' game-winning 48-yard attempt in overtime.
Mevis was 5-of-9 on field goals this season, including 3-of-6 from 40-49 yards. He made all 14 of his extra point attempts.
The 24-year-old made his NFL debut with the Rams on Nov. 9, 2025 after L.A. benched kicker Joshua Karty.
