Browns Featured in Trailer for 'The Land,' NFL Scripted Drama's Hulu Release Date Revealed
The Cleveland Browns are going to Hollywood once again.
On Tuesday, Hulu announced that Dan Fogelman's The Land will debut on Monday, Feb. 15, at 12 a.m. ET, just hours after the Super Bowl. The scripted family drama is centered around the Browns and features an ensemble cast that includes Christopher Meloni, Mandy Moore, Chace Crawford, William H. Macy and Omar Epps.
The Land follows the 2014 film Draft Day in featuring the Browns in a fictional setting.
Per Emily Longeretta of Variety, the show's synopsis states, "After several disappointing seasons, Cleveland Browns' head coach Danny Roarke (Meloni) has one last chance to turn around his football team. His fate rests on a newly drafted Ohio State quarterback โ who just happens to be his son. Meanwhile, the owner, Hal Durkin (Macy), must decide which of his two daughters is best equipped to take over the team. 'The Land' is the story of two families, in which the high-stakes drama plays out not only on the field but also in the front offices of this NFL franchise, as a loyal fanbase wants a winning season now โฆ or face big changes if they don't."
This marks Fogelman's second foray into the sports world, as he created the Fox drama Pitch, which told the story of the first female pitcher in MLB. Despite being canceled after one season, the series received critical acclaim.
The Browns are off to a 3-2 start this season, and they will remain in the spotlight after the Super Bowl when The Land officially drops on Hulu.
