Commanders Have 'A Lot of S--t to Clean Up' After Tie vs. Giants, Dan Quinn Says amid Hot Seat Buzz

After a disastrous ending to Sunday's game against the New York Giants, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn stated the obvious.

"Yesterday's ending was the biggest example, but we've got a lot of s--t to clean up from yesterday's game," Quinn told reporters Monday. "And trust me, everyone in this building, starting with me, feels that urgency."

The Commanders were in field goal range in overtime against the Giants and had the chance to hit a walk-off field goal as long as they stopped the clock in time.

On what would be the last play of the game, Jayden Daniels scrambled and was sacked. Washington tried to get back to the line of scrimmage to spike the ball and set up the field goal, but time expired.

Quinn said that he and the coaches were "furious with the execution" and gave his perspective on what happened.

The game ended in a tie, and the Commanders moved to 1-3-1 instead of 2-3.

A rough start to the season, combined with the way things went on Sunday, perhaps has fans questioning whether Washington should move on from Quinn. He recognizes that those questions come with the job, but added that he talks with team owner Josh Harris regularly.

"I do know how the league goes," he said. "No one is pleased with this outcome."
