Robert Saleh Rips Titans' OL While Cam Ward's Future Questioned as 2027 NFL Draft Order Takes Shape

Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh did not hold back when assessing his offensive line after the team dropped to 0-5 with Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans.

"It was nowhere near good enough to be qualified as a NFL offensive line," he said Monday, per Teresa M. Walker of the Associated Press.

While much of the focus was on the poor play of quarterback Cam Ward in the immediate aftermath of the loss, the offensive line also struggled. Ward was sacked four times and used his mobility to escape a number of other sacks. Videos of missed assignments went viral on social media.

It was, in a word, ugly.

Monday's comments came after Ward was questioned to the point Saleh told reporters Sunday he was not benching the quarterbackย

For his part, the Miami product said he's "not a loser" when asked if he was growing accustomed to Tennessee consistently falling short. Ward is now 3-19 as a starter, although the offensive line isn't doing him any favors.

Pro Football Focus ranked Tennessee as the 24th-best offensive line in the league before the Week 5 struggles.

At this point, it is clear the Titans need to make a number of moves before they will once again be competitive in the AFC playoff race. They are one of three teams with an 0-5 record alongside the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers and would be in line for the No. 1 pick if the season ended after the most recent loss.

Whether that means drafting another quarterback remains to be seen, but whoever is under center will need better protection from the offensive line.
