Micah Parsons Injury Update, Latest Packers Star's Return Timeline Ahead of Cowboys Revenge Game
The Green Bay Packers "are not anticipating" star edge-rusher Micah Parsons to return to practice this week ahead of Sunday night's matchup against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Per that report, "There still is uncertainty about exactly when Parsons will return from his knee injury, but the hope still remains it will be this month."
Parsons, 27, has been sidelined since December after tearing his ACL in a 34-26 loss against the Denver Broncos. It ended a strong debut season in Green Bay after Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks, 41 tackles (12 for loss), 27 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and a pass defensed in 14 games (13 starts).ย
He earned Pro Bowl honors for the fifth time and was a first-team All-Pro selection for the third time.ย
Parsons joined Green Bay after the Dallas Cowboys traded him before the start of the 2025 season for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 following a lengthy contract dispute. The Packers promptly signed him to a four-year, $188 million extension.
That made Sunday's game against the Cowboysโwhich would have been Parsons' second meeting against his former team following last year's wild 40-40 overtime tie in Dallasโa highly anticipated matchup. But it sounds as though Parsons isn't ready to make his return to the field just yet.
It nonetheless remains a huge game for both teams. The Cowboys are just 2-3 to start the season, while Green Bay (3-2) has won two games in a row and will be looking to continue that momentum on Sunday night.
