Josh Allen Compared to X-Men Supervillain Apocalypse by HOF RB as Bills QB Eyes NFL Rushing Records

Hall of Fame running back Curtis Martin is tied with Eric Dickerson for 14th all-time in career rushing touchdowns with 90, but he knows that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen—who already has 86 career rushing touchdowns—will soon surpass him and a slew of other legendary halfbacks.

And for Martin, that makes Allen something of a mutant.

According to Tim Graham of The Athletic, "To explain what makes Allen special, Martin searched for the name of an X-Men supervillain who possesses 'all the different superpowers combined into one, the ultimate force.' That mutant is known as Apocalypse, and he's laying waste to NFL records once dominated by running backs."

Allen, 30, already has seven rushing touchdowns through five games this season and is well on his way to recording double-digit touchdowns on the ground for a fourth straight season. It's very possible that by some point in the 2027 season he'll exceed 100 rushing touchdowns, which would put him in the top 10 all time.

At some point, Allen's physical running style may no longer be sustainable as he looks to prolong his career. But for now, seeing Allen bearing down on defenders evokes another X-Men villain—the Juggernaut.
