Angel Reese's Dream Reportedly Eyes Larger Arenas to Host WNBA Finals Games vs. Valkyries
The Atlanta Dream have thus far been unsuccessful in their attempts to move their home games during the WNBA Finals from the Gateway Center Arena—which has a capacity of 3,500 seats—to a larger venue, per Meghan L. Hall of USA Today.
The Dream are currently set to host Game 3 (Oct. 22), Game 4 (Oct. 24) and Game 6 (Oct. 29) in their matchup with the Golden State Valkyries.
According to that report, the Dream were hoping to play their WNBA Finals games at Atlanta's State Farm Arena, which has a capacity of 17,000 people and where they already held six games during the regular season and three during the playoffs. But the venue already has a concert and two Atlanta Hawks games booked for those dates.
Additional talks to move the games to either the Gas South Arena (13,000-seat capacity) or Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion (8,600-seat capacity) have "hit a roadblock," per Hall.
For now, it appears Angel Reese and Co. will have to plan on playing at Gateway Center Arena as they pursue a championship.
